Believe in Creativity

At CraftyStart we believe that creativity is not just an enjoyable and rewarding pastime, but it is an important life skill. Creativity is useful in all walks of life – from accountancy to zoology – and over half of the country’s top entrepreneurs say that it has been an essential key to their success.

Unlike other important life skills such as writing or arithmetic, creative skills can be developed from a very early age. Research has shown that imagination, lateral thinking and intuition are all associated with the right hand side of the brain – the side which is stimulated by creative activities – and these skills are vastly improved if the right side of the brain is used regularly, especially as it develops from pre-school age up to early teens. Unfortunately, the modern education system does not always encourage these skills, but by enjoying art and crafts you can also help to develop these important skills and have fun at the same time.
